Living in a Small Town

Small town living … though downtown Boerne is still relatively small though growing bigger … can we say Boerne subdivision scrawl? I live a couple of blocks from Main Street Boerne in a 1970s-built townhome. It’s pretty quiet and I’m really enjoying the cooler weather sitting out on the balcony enjoying the sights and sounds of small-town life. Don’t know the last time I heard a woodpecker! I could hear a squirrel on the ground below chomping on whatever snack he found in the grass. During the week there are children playing outside at a pre-school. I love the Methodist Church’s chimes and bells every hour from 8am to 8pm daily. Some is church music I actually know the words to and some is just a lovely melody. Just wait until we hear the Christmas melodies! Love the noon siren each day … it reminds me all is well. And I totally enjoy going into any shop or restaurant on the Hill Country Mile and see someone I know!
